- <p> M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice beware! The hip-hop doesn't stop
- when it comes to the lovely ladies of rap. Eleven of the top
- female rappers converged last week in Los Angeles for a
- five-hour Valentine's Day concert. In a medium dominated by men
- and misogynistic lyrics, the women like to use their music to
- speak to inner-city youth on topics such as drugs and teenage
- pregnancy. "Be your own woman," says Nikki-D (second from
- right) describing her message. "We're not going to stand for
- anything bad from men." The mega-collaboration worked so well
- that the lady rappers will take their act on the road this
- spring.
